Description

Morning we will pick you up from Aswan driving towards Luxor , our first stop will be at Komombo Temple , which stands on high grounds overlooking the Nile. It’s different from other temples and unique because it is in fact a double temple, dedicated to Sobek the crocodile god, and Horus the falcon-headed god. The layout combines two temples in one with each side having its own gateways and chapels. Komombo’s importance lies in its huge sugar-cane. Day tour from Aswan to Luxor , Then heading north, you will a cross the Nile to Edfu where you will visit the majestic temple dedicated to Horus. It is considered by most to be the best preserved cult temple in Egypt. The reliefs that cover the walls, columns, and doorways of the temple constitute an extremely important source of information about ancient Egyptian religious and political thought. Among the most interesting of these reliefs tell the story of Horus exacting his revenge on Seth for the murder of his father, Osiris, an event that was re-enacted annually in the temple. Other reliefs recount the stages of the temple’s construction, and provide dates for the completion of different building elements. Leaving Edfu driving for 1 hour and half you will arrive to Luxor.
